We are pleased to announce that Ecem Süt has joined our team on 24.02.2025 as the Surface Treatment Laboratory Research Assistant. Ecem is an MSc student in Mechanical Engineering, supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yıldıran Avcu & Prof. Dr. Egemen Avcu, and holds a full-time, fully funded position supported by İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency).

In her role at the Surface Treatment Laboratory, Ecem will support the laboratory’s day-to-day workflow, including:

  • coordination of surface treatment activities and lab scheduling,
  • sample intake, tracking, and logistics (documentation & traceability),
  • support for experimental preparation and reporting aligned with ongoing research activities,
  • maintaining an organized and safe lab working environment.

MSc thesis topic:

Ecem’s MSc thesis focuses on the investigation of the microstructural, mechanical, and tribological behavior of compositionally graded graphite- and niobium-reinforced Ti6Al4V composites fabricated by the hot pressing method, with an emphasis on production optimization, microstructure evolution, hardness, wear resistance, and interfacial characteristics.
